Rim of the World is a 2019 American apocalyptic science fiction adventure film directed by McG and written by Zack Stentz. It stars Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr. and Alessio Scalzotto. The film, which was Stentz's modern take on the kid-centered action films of the 1980s, was streamed on Netflix on May 24, 2019.It was the most watched content in the SVOD service in the UK the week it was released, overtaking the series Dead to Me and Riverdale.
In a campground once teeming with people, four misfit teens are unexpectedly entrusted with a key that carries the secret to stopping the invasion. Without any adults or electronics to help guide the way, it's clear what they must do: band together, conquer their fears and save the world.
Ultimately, their lack of knowledge or preparation against any bacteria indigenous to Earth, causes their destruction here (though the epilogue states they may have successfully invaded Venus) by what Wells described as "putrefactive bacteria," which digests organic materials upon death.
At the end of the film, the alien mothership was destroyed by Alex, ZhenZhen, Gabriel, Dariush, and General Khoury using Excalibur, but since it is unknown exactly how many aliens were killed, none will be counted.
