Set in Thailand 2022, where a sign of terrible catastrophes is lurking, Prime Minister Tribhop cooperates with Doctor Siam setting Asia-Pacific and India Ocean base alarm center to monitor and predict the rise of earthquake and tsunami. Nevertheless, the biggest disaster is abruptly and unpredictably rising from Thai Gulf to the land, and alarmingly it is too late. Every single lifeform is swept and swirled by an enormous tidal wave, the land is destroyed, and the only way to survive is now judged by nature.
The Impossible is a finely acted, realistic and terrifying portrayal of the tsunami disaster in Thailand in 2004. I have watched it a couple times, you will really feel what the locals and also tourists/visitors experienced during this disaster.
It is based on the experience of María Belón and her family in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. It features an international cast including Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Holland in his film debut.
